The AFTRLife (an acronym for alt.fan.tom-robbins) is a website -- consider it an hom(ep)age -- dedicated to Tom Robbins, the cosmic/comic American author. Tom's seven novels embrace a Crazy Wisdom worldview and are written in a complex metaphorical style that is grounded in transcendent nitty-gritty reality. As Tom has pointed out; his novels have plot but don't depend on plot. All in all (is there any other way?) his novels are a real good read.

Come on in and play on the mood swings, do a dervish on the tilt-a-whirl and practice Zen acrobatics on the monkey bars. All suggestions for links or info to include are welcome, and, of course, credit will be given where credit is due. Enjoy!      Dale Kirby,  editor.

Amazon has a photo of the new novel's cover. (Thanks for the tip, Zeeter!). Click here for larger image. Jim Reed reports that if you pre-order Villa Incognito at Amazon, you are given the option of sending a 10% off gift coupon for the book to an other person. He suggests that "you have a fellow aftrlifer in mind when you place the order." Jim also points out that if we all pre-order we might put the novel onto the best-seller list before it is even out. Shipping date is April 4.

Carl Studna, the photographer who took the shots of Tom for Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas and for the upcoming Villa Incognito has a new website with many intriguing pics of TR.

What are aftrlifers up to? Amy Noel has created an aftrlife power spot, Tecopa Hot Springs Resort , a lively spot near Death Valley. She plans to combine cosmic forces with other aftrlifers such as Yoga instructor, Ann Melin, to present weekend retreats.

2003 looks to be a very good year. A new Robbins novel and a biographical documentary about his amigo, Robert Anton Wilson, are due out. Tom is featured in the film. Details and a trailor at Maybe Logic . (thanks for the tip chaogrrl)
