VRML 2.0 Work Notes

While researching VRML for my Web Developer Magazine column interview with Mark Pesce, I've become fascinated with VRML and convinced that VRML worlds will become ubiquitous this year. This site is updated regularly to provide news and notes about the progress, people, communities and events of the VRML movement for myself and you. 7/4/96 Rikk Carey has announced that: "The VRML 2.0 Specification is hereby frozen."

7/5/96 Kevin Rattai ( of Terra Vista) has announced a Virtual Employment Office. Potential employers and potential employees are invited to register for free.

Kate Seekings of Microsoft announced that the complete DirectX 2 SDK, which features Direct3D, is now available for download from http://www.microsoft.com/mediadev or http://www.microsoft.com/gamesdev

David Frerichs , Silicon Graphics Product Manager - VRML has announced a Cosmo Player newsgroup at news://vrml.sgi.com/sgi.cosmoplayer

David Frerichs of Silicon Graphics has announced the release of a new revision of Cosmo Player for Windows95 and WindowsNT! Cosmo Player 1.0 Beta 1.a is available for download at http://vrml.sgi.com/cosmoplayer/dowmload.html

Cyber Passage version 2 beta 1a is available. It is based on VRML 2.0 Draft#2(5/30 version) at http://vs.sony.co.jp/VS-#/vstop.html
