Instructions for installing Dialup Networking Upgrade 1.2 for Windows 95

These are instructions for properly installing this upgrade which was shipped with the later revision of Windows 95(rev B), but not the first release (rev A). Please have your Windows 95 System/Master CD/Diskettes on hand for this operation.

Please first download these two files onto your desktop or some temporary folder on your hard drive:

• wsockupd.exe. This is the winsock update tool for Windows 95. You need to run this FIRST.
• msdun12.exe. This is the actual Windows Dialup Networking Upgrade. This needs to be installed AFTER the winsock update

After downloading both files in the area you selected, please double click on the 'wsockupd.exe' file(Note: On some users computers it might only show up as 'wsockupd'). This program will install the neccessary updates, might ask you for the Windows 95 System CD/Diskettes, and also might ask you to restart. Please follow the instructions on screen, and restart when neccessary.

After restarting the computer then please double click/execute the 'msdun12.exe' file(Note: This also might show up as just 'msdun12'). This program will install the neccessary updates, might ask you for the Windows 95 System CD/Diskettes, and also will ask you to restart. Please follow the instructions on screen, and restart when neccessary. Note: This file might ask you to restart your computer twice.
