These are instructions on how to change your dialup number for connecting
with RAIN.  Please keep these directions for future changes to the
surrounding dialup areas.

*Note: If in the dialup areas south of Santa Barbara, before dialing
please consult with your local telephone provider to determine which
dialup prefix is local to you. 
 
 
PC WINDOWS SYSTEMS
 
 
        Windows 95/98
 
        DOUBLE CLICK on 'My Computer'.  Then DOUBLE CLICK on the Dialup
        Networking folder.  Then locate your dialup icon for 'RAIN' and
        then RIGHT CLICK on it.  Select 'Properties' and then LEFT ClICK.
        There you will find the telephone number field.  From there you
        can change the number and then CLICK OK.
 
 
        Windows 3.1 - This is mainly concerning Trumpet Winsock.
 
        DOUBLE CLICK Trumpet Winsock(tcpman.exe) and then promptly hit
        the ESC key to abort dialling procedure.  Then use your mouse to
        go to the menu up top and CLICK on 'Dialler'.  From there goto
        'Setup.cmp'.  The first prompt will ask you what number.  Change
        to the appropriate phone number and click OK until you completely
        go through all fields(username, password, init string etc.).
 
 
        Windows NT(4.x)
 
        DOUBLE CLICK on 'My Computer'.  Then DOUBLE CLICK on the Dialup
        Networking icon.  Then from 'Phone book entry' select your RAIN
        Dialup entry, then CLICK 'More'.  From there you will see a
        'Basic' tab and a 'Phone number' field.  Please enter your new
        Dialup number in that field and CLICK 'OK'.
 
 
 
MACINTOSH SYSTEMS 7.1 - 8.1
 
 
 
        FreePPP
 
        Goto to phone menu item up in upper right hand corner.  CLICK on
        it and select 'Open FreePPP setup'.  If you get a small rectangular
        window instead of the larger setup window, look for a small
        triangle in the lower left hand side of the window, and CLICK on
        it.  From there CLICK the 'Accounts' tab, highlight your RAIN
        dialup icon in the window and CLICK 'Edit'.  In the 'Account' tab
        you will see a 'Phone number' field.  Please enter your
        current RAIN local access dialup number for your area and click
        'OK'.
 
 
        ConfigPPP
 
        Goto your 'Control Panel' in your Apple Menu and select
        'ConfigPPP'.  From there make sure your 'PPP Server:' is selected
        to 'RAIN'.  After selecting it, CLICK on the 'Config' button on
        the lower left.  There you will see a 'Phone num' field.  Please
        enter your RAIN local access dialup number for your area and click
        'Done'.
 
 
        Open TransportPPP(OT/PPP)
 
        Goto your 'Control Panel' in your Apple Menu and select 'PPP'.
        From there you see a 'Phone Number' field.  Please
        enter your RAIN local access dialup number for your area and then
        close and CLICK 'Save Changes'.
