Something different in the way of talks, seminars and workshops for clubs, associations, and businesses.
Is your group taking itself a bit too seriously? Have you gone through the entire list at the local speaker's bureau?
Then maybe it's time to try something completely different.
Laugh and Learn is not merely a one-man speaker's bureau. It is the creative repertoire of a talented, intelligent,
multi-faceted, fun-loving individual.
Included are creative workshops, informative and interactive talks, and serious seminars.
Informative and Interactive Talks
Everyone has a story to tell, but they are seldom given the opportunity to tell it. An interactive talk gives people the
opportunity to tell their story, to laugh at themselves and others, and to take life a little less seriously for the
moment. Topics include:
- Cat Tales, an opportunity to share pet stories
- Mr. Science, an opportunity to tell science jokes and stories
- Computer Nerds Anonymous, an opportunity to tell computer stories and jokes
- Obsessive/Compulsive Revelations, an opportunity to laugh about the harmless things we do (but not make
fun of those who suffer from OCD)
- Blonde Confessions, an opportunity to tell about the dumb things we do each day (where blonde is an attitude,
not a hair color).
Priority is given to the telling of true personal anecdotes, and a certificate "suitable for framing" is given to
everyone who participates.
Serious and Informative Seminars
Sometimes you just need to find a new and different topic for a meeting or seminar. Laugh and Learn offers talks
in several areas:
Club Management and Operation
- How to Start a Club
- Creating an Interesting Newsletter
- Maslow and Creativity in the Context of a Club
Personal Topics
- My Life as a Surrealist
- My Life as an Erotic Artist
Music
- The Yardbirds and Their Descendants
- Blues Tunes and Their Covers
- The Road to Crosby, Stills and Nash
Miscellaneous
- The Successful Single
- Weird ElectroMechanics
- Creative Mischief
New topics are constantly being created and added to the list.
Creative Workshops
Sometimes we need an opportunity to sit down and work with our hands and minds.
- Nothing reduces stress so much as working with a lump of clay, and the Clay Workshop allows this.
- For a more creative time, the Wine Bottle Painting Workshop is a chance to create a personal work of art.
- In the Rock Painting Workshop, natural oxide washes are used to create cave art.
- In the Chocolate Painting Workshop edible works of art are created.
- You can learn and eat when you attend a workshop on Rolling Your Own Sushi.
- To combine humor, creativity, and team-building skills, there is the Mr. Potatohead video workshop, where
the participants craft a script and props and then film a short feature using children's Mr. Potatohead figures, or
other fruits and vegetables.
