American Mensa Region 9 Public Service Project

Return London Bridge

In honor of the Mensa 50th Anniversary Celebration in London in 1996, we have decided to extend our goodwill by returning London Bridge to its proper and original location. As you probably know, London Bridge was bought and moved to Lake Havasu many years ago. It is an unnatural artifact in an unnatural lake in the middle of the desert in our very own region. It does not belong here and the local Native Americans never did like it. So we have decided to help give it back.

If you plan on attending the 50th Anniversary Celebration, will you please help us out by carrying a stone or two with you on the plane to London? As long as there aren't too many of us on our various flights to London, our baggage allowance should cover two stones each. For our friends in other regions, we have arranged to ship stones to them to carry on their flights to London as well. If our attendance is as high as expected, we should be able to take the entire bridge with us.

Leave no stone unreturned!

Sign up today for this Mensa Anniversary goodwill program.

Is London Bridge falling down again? No, the Creative Mischief SIG is acting up again.
