Central Coast Singles Clubs

Updated 12/17/96. I am currently involved with three recently-formed singles clubs in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties on the Central Coast. My involvement varies with each club:

SASS -- Single Adults Sharing and Socializing, active in the San Luis Obispo area, they formed from the ADAPT support group as those members became more comfortable with their new singlehood. I am only a member of this group.
FLIRT -- Fun Loving Individuals Relating Together, active in the Five Cities area of SLO County. I am a member and their newsletter and calendar editor. The working title of their newsletter is Flights of Fancy. They have three regularly scheduled meetings each month:
- General Membership Meeting, Dinner, and Mixer, First Wednesday of each month, 6:00 PM, The Girl's Restaurant, 1237 Grand Avenue, Arroyo Grande. They meet in the back room, where the $2.00 cover charge includes the newsletter with calendar of events.
- Happy Hour, First Friday, 5:30 PM, Trader Nick's, 1601 Price Street, Pismo Beach.
- Happy Hour, Third Friday, 5:30 PM, Trader Nick's, 1601 Price Street, Pismo Beach.
CCSF -- Central Coast Single Friends, active in the Santa Maria area of SB County. I was also their newsletter and calendar editor, but am not as active with this club as I was. The working title of their newsletter is Friendly Forum. Several of the members of this club came from an earlier club there called Singles Looking Ahead, and after a recent reorganization they have gone back to this name for the club. The plan a number of events each month, but their primary event is:
- General Meeting, Wednesdays, 7:30 PM, Bakers Square Restaurant, 1841 S. Broadway, Santa Maria. They meet in the back room, where a $2.00 cover charge covers a non-alcoholic beverage of your choice.
40+ Singles Club was also in the Five Cities area, but has merged with FLIRT.

Do I have a singles ad? Absolutely, I have met a number of people over the years through singles ads, as well as many more through active involvement with singles clubs.
