Lecture Update
(Updated 2 July 1996 to include latest changes and add note about the swimming pool, gym, and sauna.
MSH)
The MENSAS GOLDEN Booking Form promises other events as part of your registration package and
many of you have been waiting to hear about them. Well now seems to be a good time to produce an up-
to-date list.
The majority of items on this list is free to registered guests. Some of them are updates on previously
advertised events, most are new. The only one requiring additional payment is the visit to CATS on
Wednesday evening which is strictly subject to availability.
Games
The Mensa International Games Tournament will run though the week with the initial rounds being
played between Tuesday and Friday and the finals on Monday. The games to be played are Chess,
Backgammon, Scrabble and Monopoly. The Games Officer can be reached though the Wolverhampton
office.
Dinners
Each evening there will be groups going to local restaurants, sign up lists and departure times will be
posted each day. On arrival you will be given a guide to local restaurants and bars so you can make your
own arrangements as required.
Swimming Pool, etc.
The London Metropole Hotel has a swimming pool and small gym and sauna which will be available to
all registered guests irrespective of whether or not you are staying at the hotel.
Additions
In the interest of providing the best celebration service possible the organisers are always looking for
speakers or events which will add to the program and therefore this list will not be definitive. I can also
promise that in the true tradition of Mensa gatherings there will be impromptu happenings throughout the
week.
Have a good journey and I look forward to seeing you in a few weeks time.
John Thorp, London Co-ordinator.
