Cormorants

Cormorants are interesting creatures. Cormorants have webbed feet. Cormorants will dive under water to catch food. Cormorants are related to brown pelicans. They have long powerful beaks with a hook on the end. Cormorants have feathered bodies, long necks, and flat heads.
Cormorants have orange throats. Cormorants look for fish while swimming on the water’s surface. When they sight a fish they dive under the water to catch it.
In China people put a ring around the cormorant’s neck so the bird can’t swallow the fish it catches. They will also put it on a leash so it won’t escape. Cormorant will instead bring the fish to its owner. That is what we learned about cormorants.
