Common Dolphins

Common dolphins can grow 7.5 to 8.5 feet in length. And can weigh up
to 297 pounds. They feed on small school fish and squid. The common dolphins are found in
warm and tropical waters. The reason dolphins are friend to man is...
A long time ago *Hutash* the earth goddess created people on Santa Cruz with her
husband Sky Snake (the Milky Way). They were made out of seeds planted by Hutash. Then Sky
Snake sent a bolt of lightning to the first people.
Each year more and more people were made and villages got bigger and bigger. It was hard
to find food for the people. And the noise they made at night was starting to annoy her. Hutash
had an idea, to make a rainbow bridge to the other island. And then when they were crossing they
fell off. Hutash did not want them to drown so she made them into dolphins. That is why dolphins
are friend to man.
