This was the first time the fifth grade used the Etrex, which are hand-held Global Position System receivers.

We went on a treasure hunt in the school play field.  The class divided into small groups.We had to look for treasure by using the Etrex to direct us.  The treasure was located at three different waypoints.

This group has found one part of the treasure hanging in a tree!
