Here, in the 5th Grade at St.James we have chess tournaments almost every week.  We do this to teach  new students how to play and to develop students' skills.

 

Jeremy and Danielle battle fiercely to win a chess game.	The whole class is playing chess.

 
 

Here are some quotes from people in our class about chess:  Aaron- "It's a good game and anyone can play it."  Danielle- "I'm not that good, but it's very fun and I'd like to improve."  Mr.Agnew- "Chess is a good game for strategies and planning ahead." Nick- "Chess is a very fun game and I learn more every time I play." Jeremy- "You need a lot of concentration to play."
