We went on a field trip to Sierra Orchards, where we learned about growing walnuts, and also about acorns, and local Indians.  An insect called the Walnut Husk Fly lays its eggs on the walnut hull, and when the larva hatches it eats the hull until it's old enough to find its own food. "Wonderful Alex" told us about acorns, and how to plant them.  Bill Gray told us about local Indians like the Patwin, and showed us artifacts.
Wonderful Alex tells us about oaks. Mr. McNamara makes us run through the dry tail pond.
Everyone smile!! A worker sorts the walnuts.

Mary, Andreina, Marissa, and Brooke are planting acorns in the planter. Richard talks to Zack as they get ready to go into the walnut drier.
Everyone got FREE WALNUTS. Emily, Sierra, and Teresa are planting their acorns.
