The 5th grade had a scarecrow contest.
They had to make a scarecrow in 30 minutes and they were judged by the
6th grade. They were judged on neatness, scariness, and teamwork.
They made Mr. and Ms. Plaid. Most of the 6th grade picked Mr. Plaid
because he was scary, but Mrs. Meyer picked the girl scarecrow because
the team was neater and they worked better together. These are some of
the girls fixing her up before the contest.

This is Mrs. Meyer, the organizer of
the contest. She is glad that we made scarecrows to protect our garden
and keep it nice. You can tell that she really cares about our garden!!!
She is a very good teacher as well as a gardener.

Here are Danielle and Megan having
fun in the garden. They had a great time making scarcrows. We're happy
that Mrs. Meyer lets us do fun activities instead of burying our noses
in books.
