Celebrations
in Year 2008
The year 2008 will be a busy year for historical celebrations. In particular the 250th Anniversary of birth of Robespierre, Noah Webster, James Monroe, and Admiral Lord Nelson all will be observed. In addition, 450 years ago, both Elizabeth I and Mary, Queen of Scots took over as Queen in England and France respectively. Some amazing inventions will celebrate anniversaries in 2008. The modern "Watch" was invented 350 years ago - and the Astronomical Telescope was invented 500 years ago. Also 500 years ago, Michaelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel.
Each of these anniversaries will be honored in our present exhibit.
