The first problem that we see in children with a cleft lip and palate is difficulty in taking breast milk. This problem is usually corrected by the use of a bottle with a special nipple. With help and teaching from pediatric nurse specialists, the parents are easily able to feed their own child with cleft lip and palate problems.
