Finding Library Materials
Table of Contents
Your search for library materials will usually begin with the
Online Black Gold
Public Access Catalog (OPAC) (or
OPAC for short).
This is an
online list of books and other materials in all libraries
within the Black Gold Cooperative Library System.
You can search for a book, compact disk, video, etc. from a
terminal in any public library or you can access OPAC from
your home or office if you have a computer and a modem.
Please ask at the Information Desk if you need assistance.
There is other important information in the library which is
not displayed in the OPAC. This information includes accurate
branch magazine holdings, most government documents, and
pamphlets. Other significant information resources at some
libraries include telephone books, microfilm and microfiche
collections, and stand alone CD-ROM work stations which
provide access to information, including indexes to newspapers
and health information. Please ask at the Information Desk
for assistance.
