Curried Pineapple for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Here's a quick, simple, and yummy recipe for carpal tunnel syndrome sufferers. The active ingredients are bromelain in the pineapple and curcumin in the tumeric. They are synergistic in combination. Also included is ginger. All of these reduce inflammation and help heal faster.

One pineapple, peeled, cored, and sliced
(or one can sliced pineapple)
one tablespoon tumeric
One teaspoon powdered ginger
One tablespoon olive oil

Heat the oil in a hot skillet. Put in the the tumeric and ginger to release their essential oils (takes about one minute). Put in the pineapple slices. Toss until covered with the oil and heated through. Do not overcook. Cover and turn off heat. Let sit on the stove until time for dessert.

Not for people with ulcers.

Options: Top with toasted nuts. These contain B-vitamins, which are also good for CTS. Add salt, pepper, cumin, and garlic for a deeper, broader flavor.

In Ayurvedic cooking, this is called ananas haldi and is considered good for Vata and Pitta, but can be eaten in moderation by Kapha.

This recipe is one of several healing foods recipes in our Carpal Tunnel Holistic Home Care Kit.
