PHILOSOPHY

You are the visitor since August 13, 1996

The Philosophy Club at Hackensack High School meets in room 418 (physics lecture room) on Wednesdays from 2:30 until 4:00 o'clock in the afternoon for a 2 credit course Philosophy Concepts. The program has included the Presocratics, Socrates, and Plato in the first semester (Fall 1995) and Aristotle and beyond in the second semester (Spring 1996). Membership in this club and course represents a significant commitment by each student. Marking period grades are based on participation and insight; Midterm and Final examinations are an integral part of the course.
In 1996-97 the club was more of a discussion group without course credit. The prime topic was political philosophy.
During the 1997-98 school year the club is back to a course in Philosophy Concepts!
