Kb 9/4/97 1:31:44 PM This is the way I like to eat my mango.
I slice around the seed and then score the fruit and eat. then eat
around and suck the seed clean. Here you can have peaches in summer
and mango in winter. |
 mang02.jpg 12.60
Kb 9/4/97 1:29:00 PM I end up with this seed from a
polyembronic mango. Which has a good chance of being true to and as
good as the mother.. |
 mang03.jpg 23.77
Kb 9/4/97 1:29:28 PM I split the husk and gently take out
the seed. |
 mang04.jpg 59.28
Kb 9/4/97 1:27:34 PM This is the seed and as you can see it
has a little horse shoe shape or half moon shape |
 mang05.jpg 119.38
Kb 9/4/97 1:27:12 PM I plant it with the points of the moon
shape down |
 mang06.jpg 100.59
Kb 9/4/97 1:24:44 PM I don't plant it two deep |
 mang07.jpg 114.86
Kb 9/4/97 1:24:18 PM If it comes up with more that one stem
I know it is polyembronic and may breed true. |
 mang08.jpg 98.46
Kb 9/4/97 1:23:06 PM As it gets big I move it to a much
bigger pot as mango has a deep tap root. |
 mang09.jpg 154.79
Kb 9/2/97 11:07:28 AM Second generation from a seedling I
got from Paul Thomson who knows mango. He said it was a good
seedling and now I have a seed of the seedling and it also looks
good. Let you know after I taste it this year. God willing. |
 mang10.jpg 168.74
Kb 9/4/97 1:22:36 PM With each generation I feel the mango
will get more and more use to growing here. |

tree. hummm what wilI I name you. |
 mang14.jpg 155.47
Kb 8/30/97 12:26:16 PM These trees made it throught the
freeze I lost about 20 mangoes over 10 years old below the graft so
now I will use mostly seedlings . this is one of the only grafts
that lived. |

Kb 9/1/97 11:18:14 AM another seedling |

Kb 9/1/97 11:18:40 AM another seedling. Look for Ca. mango
to be one of the best. |
 mang18.jpg 115.49
Kb 9/1/97 7:09:48 PM another seedling |
 mang19.jpg 145.35
Kb 9/1/97 7:10:20 PM mango grow slow in Ca. because they
only push growth 2 or 3 time where as in the tropics they push all
year long. Here in winter they just hold on and do not push so for a
mango to get this big it takes time . But the best mango I ever
tasted I grew right here. |
