This is the way I like to eat my mango. I slice around the seed and then score the fruit and eat. then eat around and suck the seed clean. Here you can have peaches in summer and mango in winter.

I end up with this seed from a polyembronic mango. Which has a good chance of being true to and as good as the mother..

As it gets big I move it to a much bigger pot as mango has a deep tap root.

Second generation from a seedling I got from Paul Thomson who knows mango. He said it was a good seedling and now I have a seed of the seedling and it also looks good. Let you know after I taste it this year. God willing.

This is a good seedling. I buy the fruit from the store and plant the seed and taaa daaa my own mango tree. hummm what wilI I name you.

These trees made it throught the freeze I lost about 20 mangoes over 10 years old below the graft so now I will use mostly seedlings . this is one of the only grafts that lived.

mango grow slow in Ca. because they only push growth 2 or 3 time where as in the tropics they push all year long. Here in winter they just hold on and do not push so for a mango to get this big it takes time . But the best mango I ever tasted I grew right here.
