The generous gifts and donations made by the community to your Library help to support it in
good and bad times. These gifts and donations are in the form of money, furniture,
fixtures, and books, which are receipted by the Library upon request. Monetary
donations can be deposited into any of the following accounts specified by the donor:
- Book Trust Fund - for the purchase of books, cassettes, videos, etc., not
covered by any of the other sources listed below.
- Elisabeth S. Blake Fund - for contingency purposes; to help defray the cost
of items the Library's budget cannot afford.
- Homework Center - One-to-one tutoring with homework assignment help and
help with reading, for elementary and middle school students.
- Teen Scene - a twice-per-month gathering of teens from 6th through 12th
grades, providing programming and guest speakers of interest to teens, games, food,
books and fun.
- Families For Literacy - This program targets families with at least one child
under the age of six. It provides quality time for families, allowing the
parents to spend time with their children doing projects, singing, reading,
etc. A book is given to each family at the end of the program, so that the
families can start their library at home.
- ESL and Parenting Classes - Books are needed to supplement these classes.
Examples are beginning readers, easy readers, and books that will help with
the subjects being taught in both classes.
- The Blanchard Community Library Endowment Fund - The Library is provided
with the interest earned annually by the Fund. (See the flyer below for more information
on the Endowment Fund.)
