When I was 12 years old my mother asked me to finish cooking the
lentils. So I went into the house, because my mother was outside doing the
laundry. She told me to chop up some tomato and onions and fry them in a
pan. After I had fried the tomatoes and onions my mom had told me to add
the drained lentils to the pan. I drained the lentils completely and added them
to the tomatoes and onions. My mother walked in and saw what I had cooked
and she exclaimed" Mija what is this!" I replied Mom I drained the lentils
just like you told me and threw the juice away. My Mom explained that I was
supposed to save the juice to add latter. My mather had to add water and the
lentils did not have any flavor at suppertime when we ate them. Now I know
how to make lentils Soup
I remember When I was 14 years old My sister brother-in-low came to
our house and asked My father if I Could help his wife with their New beby.
When I arrived at their hause I started Cooking dinner. I was going to boil
potatoes They had wood Stove and whend I started the fire all it did was
meke Smoke. And very Little heat I had to keep going out side because my
Eyase were tearing up. I never did get to cook the potaes. So that night we
had bread and hat chocalate for Dinner.
When I was 12 years old and living in Mexico I asked my mother if I
could bake a cake for my dad. My mother told me that it was a good idea.
Our oven was not working so I gathered old the ingredients and walked to
my grand mother's house.
When I was Prepared the dough I as thinking that I was going to make
a delicious cake for my dad. I thought if I put more sugar and a dough the
cake would turn out very good. So I Put more and more sugar in the dough.
I Put the dough in a cake pan and Put the Pan in the oven. I kept
looking at the cake through the oven window the cake rose beautifly and all
of a sudden the cake collapse.
We could not Slice the cake, because it was so sticky and gooey. My
grandmother offered to bake a cake, but I tanked and told her that my dad
was do home at any time so I went home and my dad did not have cake that
night.
